 Unique Controller Hold: This technique has started on NES. I, and my brother Rene, used the middle finger and the index finger to jump and use the whip onCastleVania and to shoot on Kid Icarus. We have used this technique for a lot of games (especially for every Beat'em Up), but Rene doesn't use it as often as I do. I also use this tecnique on MK64. My middle finger to press the R button for sliding and the index finger on A for the gas. For shrooming I use the Z trigger with the left handed index finger. Besides this, I also listen to alternative music or to radio while trying to get WR.

Here's the story of how Peter Elsaesser became so good at Kart! This story was submitted by Peter's brother, Rene "REX" Elsaesser!

He is the reason why I started a time trial page for PAL. In the beginning, he only want to know how good he is in Super Mario Kart. After a while I have known a lot persons in the scene and after MK64 in PAL came I started the MK64 PAL page in request by one of these guys. It was the first and for a long time the only PAL site. Peter didn't really enjoy MK64 at the beginning because he was fixed in SMK. But then there was a competition in Austria and after a view good tips from the best PAL karters until then (October 1997) he really started to drive. He won the competition and I got a job at the Nintendo Club because of having all these connections (and because I know a lot about computers). Because I'm working at the Nintendo Club I got the possibility to get an NTSC system for Peter. Meanwhile Peter is trying to get the number ONE in the world on PAL and NTSC. Peter always drives with Peach, because in the beginning he used Bowser (like in SMK) so I and my second brother took Peach and Toad. Because we wanted to know which time was driven by whom he used at the end Peach. Peter doesn't like driving shortcuts because, as you see at his total course records, he loves to drive a whole race much more then to jump and trying to get some shortcuts they are often based on to much luck. He always uses his yellow controller to drive records.
